Ambrose Healthcare is proud to announce that our Chief Financial Officer, Ali Elsley, has been appointed Chair of the Board at Cambridge Rugby Club, Cambridge, UK.
This appointment marks a significant milestone, not only for the club, but for the wider sporting community. Ali becomes the first woman to serve as Chair of a rugby club competing in the national Champ Rugby league, the second highest level of professional rugby union in the UK.
Cambridge Rugby Club currently competes in Champ Rugby, the division below the Gallegher Prem, and plays a critical role in the development and progression of elite rugby talent in England.
Ali’s appointment reflects her exceptional leadership, strategic acumen, and track record of delivering growth and transformation across complex organisations. At Ambrose Healthcare, she has been instrumental in shaping our financial strategy, supporting our fundraising activities, and positioning the company for its next phase of growth as we advance our rare disease drug pipeline.
Championing Leadership Without Boundaries
At Ambrose Healthcare, we are especially proud that this milestone reflects something deeper than individual achievement. It underscores the strength, capability, and ambition of the women across our leadership team.
From scientific innovation to strategic execution and financial leadership, the women of Ambrose are actively shaping the future of the company—and, increasingly, making their mark well beyond it.
Ali’s appointment is a powerful example of what happens when expertise, credibility, and leadership are recognised without limitation.
A Shared Ethos: Performance, Discipline, and Delivery
Rugby at the Champ Rugby level demands resilience, precision, and teamwork—qualities that strongly resonate with how we operate at Ambrose.
As we continue to build a clinical-stage, near-to-market rare disease company, these same principles underpin our approach: disciplined execution, clear strategy, and a relentless focus on delivering outcomes for patients.
Looking Ahead
We extend our congratulations to Ali on this landmark achievement and look forward to supporting her as she takes on this important role alongside her continued leadership at Ambrose Healthcare.
Her appointment not only reflects personal excellence but also reinforces Ambrose’s commitment to fostering leadership that challenges convention and sets new standards—both within life sciences and beyond.
